previous 3/10 next 5/10  Smilno 6 - 0 Žibritov (383819896)

Clouds darkened the skies at Smilno Arena as 36928 spectators turned up for the match. Rendert Albers was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Brian Duguid and Alessandro Fiorentini. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Smilno. Starters: Závracký - Hansson, Kahánek, Silváš, Machado - György, Tomík, Gedó, Pajarel, Kubicza - Vican.

Žibritov decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Forgáč - Vančovský, Futó, Nerušil, Jarý - Dekíš, Hrycko, Radúz, Vadina - Meszes, Kaluš.

With 2 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as E. Pajarel flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Smilno's I. Silváš saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 11 minutes. Smilno were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 22 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by T. Vican. 2 - 0 for the home side. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Smilno's L. György increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Smilno managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when I. Silváš cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Smilno enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Smilno solidified their lead at the 55 minute mark, as D. Hansson dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. Confident in their lead, Smilno's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Smilno increased the lead as J. Machado struck to make the score 6 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Smilno, with 65 percent of the ball.

Smilno's top performer was clearly L. György. However, M. Kahánek made a disastrous appearance. Most important Žibritov player was J. Meszes. B. Futó on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 0.
