previous 4/10 next 6/10  Rebond 2 - 1 St.Iván (383860918)

Clouds darkened the skies at Sasfészek as 71002 spectators turned up for the match. Eric Badia was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stefano Catania and Andy Goure. Rebond started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Maghembe - Clapers, Endresz, Jacaré - Szeszuła, Lakos, Valter, Hacsek, Krause-Meier - Paljak, Batári.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for St.Iván. The following players had been chosen: Castrillo - Lehel, Irimescu, Frota - Bastianelli, Szakács, Villar, Lajtos, Timoteo - Demirtaş, Révay.

Rebond had a good opportunity to take the lead as S. Krause-Meier came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of R. Castrillo. St.Iván took the lead 9 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. I. Révay was the scorer. With 24 minutes having been played, Rebond scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but I. Clapers was marked down as the scorer. Rebond took the lead 25 minutes in, as S. Krause-Meier broke through on the left and put the 2 - 1 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. With 27 minutes played, E. Bastianelli of St.Iván fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Rebond enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

With 47 minutes played, I. Clapers could have brought this one home for Rebond as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The home side's R. Lakos came close to extending the lead 64 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but R. Castrillo managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Rebond's Á. Hacsek saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 69 minutes. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the St.Iván manager used a brief break in play after 70 minutes to give the players new directives. The Rebond players could smell victory in the air. S. Batári wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for E. Esztergályos after 89 minutes. Rebond claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Rebond's best player was E. Esztergályos. On the other hand, M. Paljak's play was disheartening. S. Demirtaş performed admirably for St.Iván. E. Bastianelli on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
