(383861378)

21-07-2012 15.30
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 50645 that came out to
Kőzúzó úti Stadion.
Raimonds Melisus was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Reinder Stuifzand and
Silverio Bellavista.
Sleepwalkers had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
Starters: Bucsi - Di Nucci, Kocsis, Döbrösi - Rivero, Révay, Csendes, Sárközy - Mák, Móricz, László.
Cheetahs decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Ðorović - Dos Santos, Álamo - Jakab, Nedwell, Wadman, Della Casa, Linschoten - Szondy, Garmendia, Nemcsik.
At 5 minutes played,
A. László came in from the right with the intention of giving Sleepwalkers the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
Cheetahs were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 6 minutes,
D. Nedwell swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 0 - 1.
The sun seemed to put
D. Móricz in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
20 minutes in, and Sleepwalkers were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
A. Rivero picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 29 minutes when
T. Nemcsik came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 32 minutes allowed
D. Dos Santos to score for Cheetahs. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2.
A well placed corner kick from
R. Di Nucci was followed by
K. Csendes's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Sleepwalkers, the score now 2 - 2.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2.
Sleepwalkers claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Sleepwalkers substitution.
A. Lisztes came on for
D. Móricz.
A. Lisztes became the new Sleepwalkers captain.
46 minutes into the match, the Sleepwalkers manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged.
After 47 minutes, Cheetahs sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
D. Della Casa, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 3.
An amazing free kick flew past the home keeper 62 minutes into the match, putting Cheetahs ahead 2 - 4.
E. Álamo was the scorer.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 67 minute mark, Cheetahs's
R. Linschoten hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
R. Révay broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 3 - 4.
At the 78 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for Cheetahs to score had been missed until
B. Szondy suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 3 - 5.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
Sleepwalkers's top performer was clearly
B. Sárközy.
On the other hand,
R. Di Nucci's play was disheartening.
T. Nemcsik performed admirably for Cheetahs.
N. Ðorović was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 5.
