The crowd of 36261 turning up at
Mirrmu Park today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Sándor Mundi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Frodo te Riele and
Koos Pon.
Tragi had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Kuangaliyev - El Baz, Krústev, Grönborg - Roslik, Szekér, de Orleans, Bondarenko - Öreg, Öreg, Szombath.
Paprika started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Boccaccio - Taricco, Baracaldo, van Gessel, Kševickas - Pontes, Sóvágó, Élő, Smed - Finne, Chaves.
Tragi's
A. Öreg was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 26 minutes.
I. Roslik gave Tragi the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
G. Boccaccio was caught napping as
I. Bondarenko lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms.
After 33 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
M. Szombath might have resulted in another goal for Tragi. However,
G. Boccaccio made a spectacular save.
It was 1 - 0 at the break.
Tragi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Paprika's coach gave
K. Kanta the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
W. Baracaldo reluctantly left the field.
As the game started to slip away for Paprika, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
M. Finne just fine.
A. Krústev left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 52 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
V. Onishenko was the replacement.
The coach of Tragi was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 57 minutes,
K. Shengelia came on for
J. de Orleans.
M. El Baz wanted to play on, but the Tragi coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by
H. Schröferl.
Paprika's
T. Élő got himself booked for a foul.
77 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. Szekér broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Tragi.
Confident in their lead, Tragi's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Tragi solidified their lead at the 82 minute mark, as
M. Öreg dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
M. Szekér of Tragi was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Possession in this half belonged to Tragi, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
The most dominating Tragi player was without a doubt
M. Szekér.
However,
A. Kuangaliyev made a disastrous appearance.
Paprika's best player was
K. Kanta.
R. Sóvágó turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
