previous 9/10 next 1/10  Őrség 0 - 2 Hasas (383873905)

Clear skies welcomed the 31446 spectators who had made their way to Nyugati Gyepü. Francesc Belda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Florian Steinbach and Elias Patz. Őrség started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Príncipe - Kiprich, Ciotti, Essl-Gruber - Bille, Szabó, Lugosi, Halmai, Migliore - Szabolcska, Kutaitis.

Hasas tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. The following players took the field: Gemba - Ginschel, Gottifredi, Knappen, Sánchez Paniagua, Rajchl - Rivas, Šperl, Henson, Morana - Leppihalme.

It was an obvious ambition of Őrség to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, Hasas had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. F. Morana finished off the counterattack of Hasas from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 1. The home crowd was pulling their hair out after G. Migliore missed a penalty shot by miles 25 minutes into the game. With 33 minutes played, Hasas's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to A. Rivas he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 2. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Őrség, with 70 percent of the ball.

Hasas's counterattacks created a good chance for A. Rivas on the right after 79 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. J. Szabó of Őrség received a yellow card after 80 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Őrség's Á. Szabolcska found himself alone on the left side 83 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! Őrség's J. Lugosi managed a superb strike from the left after 88 minutes that would have left goalkeeper M. Gemba without a chance, had it not hit the post. Őrség claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Őrség's best player was J. Szabó. On the other hand, Á. Szabolcska's play was disheartening. T. Leppihalme performed admirably for Hasas. However, M. Gemba made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 2.
