Players in Katalóniaiak heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 18 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from E. Hedstål, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. L. Blondiau should probably have put his team up another goal after 27 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by J. Rewers kept the visitors in the game. E. Hedstål had a fantastic opportunity to put Katalóniaiak up another goal 28 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Csaholy's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing T. Endo to score easily from the right flank for 1 - 1. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, L. Blondiau scored for Katalóniaiak putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 35 minutes. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Katalóniaiak, with 54 percent of the ball.

Attacking on the wings was the choice for Katalóniaiak, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Katalóniaiak had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. The visitors refused to give in and, after 60 minutes, J. Bernadas evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 2 - 2 Katalóniaiak took the lead after 67 minutes as a result of M. Buelga's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Katalóniaiak, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Katalóniaiak's top performer was clearly N. Martinelli. On the other hand, J. Pereira Rego's play was disheartening. Most important Csaholy player was N. Blin. C. Chambon turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
