Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 41626 at White Hall today. Hennes Proff was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Soni Lindman and Sylvain Rougier. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Szerény. Starters: Sanchiz - Toussaint, Pettersson, Thorflod - Gkonias, Kiss, Dalnoki, Hubble, Barrio - Klughafen, Kavalekas.

Dögök decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players took the field: Orcajada - Kopouw, Kovalev, Dollendorf, Kocsárdi - de Cristo, Quintalo, Lorenzini, Frigy, van Eerden - Lombardi.

Dögök were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Szerény fans held their breath as D. Gkonias scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! The referee showed Szerény's R. Dalnoki the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Barrio squirmed through their central defence after 9 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. 20 minutes in, Dögök appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Cheers filled the stadium as T. Klughafen broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Szerény. After this, you could see that the players of Szerény were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Coming from the right, C. Kavalekas almost managed to score another goal for Szerény, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 29 minutes into the match, a typically brave header by T. Klughafen from D. Gkonias's cross looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach. Goal for Szerény, making the score 4 - 0. C. Kavalekas could have increased the lead after 32 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Dögök mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 33 minutes, but V. Lombardi was unable to convert from short range. The game was close to savage at times, and Szerény's R. Dalnoki received a second yellow card after 34 minutes; his ticket out of the game. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Szerény had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

During the break, Dögök's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 62 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but X. Orcajada got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. After 63 minutes Dögök tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, S. van Eerden's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. 75 minutes into the game, Dögök seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. Szerény's C. Toussaint had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 78 minutes having been played. M. Lemaître was the replacement. Szerény put themselves up 5 - 0 when D. Gkonias broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 85 minutes in, Szerény's C. Kavalekas received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. E. Quintalo was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Dögök's N. Kalocsay had to come off the bench. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Szerény's J. Barrio increasing the lead to 6 - 0. After 88 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Barrio gave the Szerény supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 0. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for J. Barrio. Szerény claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

The most dominating Szerény player was without a doubt O. Hubble. A. Sanchiz was a disappointment, however. V. Lombardi performed admirably for Dögök. N. Kalocsay on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 7 - 0.
