previous 3/4 next 1/4  Titi 0 - 1 Szeged (383926067)

A scorching day at Thierry Henry Stadion, where 18509 spectators were in place for today's match. Grozdan Sendic was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Felipe De Loera and Vladimir Sadovnichenko. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Titi. Lineup: Iglódi - Bogdán, Simon, Bálint - Dominó, Somodi, Dudás, Péter, Szalai - Iván, Dibernárdó.

Szeged decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. The following players took the field: Sutter - Burkhart Pérez, Nizan, Lannerhall, Macedo, Chiavicatti - Mićić, Balistreri, Colluto, Gleichen-Rußwurm - Lugano.

Szeged demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why S. Péter found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. 38 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by R. Dibernárdó almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal. After 39 minutes, the defensive line of Szeged created a counterattack through the middle that gave M. Gleichen-Rußwurm a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. R. Sutter had to be alert to tip R. Dibernárdó's fantastic penalty kick over the bar, denying Titi a chance at the lead. Szeged caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 44 minutes into the match. B. Mićić was able to finish off the move - 0 - 1. Titi's R. Dibernárdó put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 44 minutes, but the ball went wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Titi had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

Szeged's B. Mićić left the field after 86 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was S. Böndő. After 87 minutes, J. Somodi got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Titi, with 62 percent of the ball.

Titi's top performer was clearly S. Péter. G. Bálint turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Szeged player was A. Lugano. However, S. Böndő made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 1.
