Lampó 1 - 6 CFC (383952277)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 7051 that came out to Sanctuary. Orfeo Nutelet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pierre Recour and Mario Zanderink. Lampó had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Mészöly - Grebmer, Rösrath, Šeškevičius, Eretnek - Dukai, Giron, Lendvai, Csuha - Gajdács, Nyilas.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CFC. Lineup: Kryza - Megale, Helmholtz, Stoyanov - Essediri, Gally, Radu, Móricz, Zsolnai - Dorr, Křtěn.

Lampó took a creative approach on the field. CFC took the lead after 3 minutes making the score 0 - 1. T. Křtěn placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. A. Stoyanov's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. The referee signalled a penalty 36 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. M. Dorr knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. After 37 minutes of game time, M. Dorr had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but I. Mészöly was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The visitors' C. Gally took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 39 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for CFC. Some fine movement on the left led to a CFC goal after 40 minutes, making it 0 - 4. H. Móricz was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to CFC, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

47 minutes into the game, CFC were awarded a penalty and M. Dorr was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 5 rolling the ball in by the right post. By now, the players in CFC felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 56 minutes, CFC's A. Stoyanov burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Lampó's Z. Csuha somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for K. Gajdács, who struck for 1 - 6. With 60 minutes played, the Lampó coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. R. Olasz came on, Z. Csuha had to leave the fray. Usually a powerful player on the field, S. Radu looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun. The coach of CFC was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, Z. Rácz came on for M. Dorr. The CFC captaincy was handed to S. Radu. I. Mészöly got a fingertip on H. Móricz's shot from the left 71 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. S. Radu wanted to play on, but the CFC coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 71 minutes into the game by F. van der Weijde. A. Stoyanov was the new captain of CFC - handed the armband by the departing player. After 75 minutes, Lampó switched G. Nyilas with K. Szója, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Lampó had to manage with a reduced squad after 78 minutes, as K. Gajdács got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Lampó's coach gave M. Lukács the opportunity the player had been hoping for. L. Giron reluctantly left the field. CFC claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Most important Lampó player was W. Grebmer. On the other hand, U. Rösrath's play was disheartening. The most dominating CFC player was without a doubt T. Křtěn. F. van der Weijde was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
