previous 6/10 next 8/10  Middledevils 6 - 1 Doblougløkka (384109467)

Clouds darkened the skies at Sulphur Swamp as 70134 spectators turned up for the match. Raffael Strang was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Kvåle and Orlando Andrés Obregón. Middledevils had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Jacobsen - Omar, Ingesson, Toikander - Ibrahim, Hansen, Haugnes, Jensen, Datković - Elen, Delacourt.

Doblougløkka started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Halttula - Marascalchi, Mpelonis, Gheorghe, Matos - Øye, 淮朋 (Huaipeng) , Beauvillain, Bankov - Heide, Bengtsson.

For their match strategy, Doblougløkka had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Doblougløkka mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 14 minutes, but G. Heide was unable to convert from short range. After 15 minutes, W. Jensen came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Middledevils the lead. T. Ibrahim could have put Middledevils up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 19 minutes. Middledevils put themselves up 2 - 0 when T. Ibrahim broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The Doblougløkka coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. With 24 minutes played, the Doblougløkka coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. X. Márquez came on, 简. 淮朋 (Huaipeng) had to leave the fray. After 28 minutes, Doblougløkka switched K. Mpelonis with D. Gödens, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Middledevils's J. Toikander left the field after 31 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was D. Sztanek. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Middledevils, with 71 percent of the ball.

A well placed corner kick from L. Elen was followed by F. Haugnes's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Middledevils, the score now 3 - 0. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Doblougløkka's G. Heide was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 51 minutes. P. Nilsen was given a chance to change things around. Middledevils put in a good effort on the right, but F. Haugnes saw his volley fly wide of the mark 53 minutes into the game. After 57 minutes Middledevils's Å. Hansen limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. In an effort to secure the lead, Middledevils changed their tactic after 60 minutes. The Middledevils coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 65 minutes into the game. The Middledevils players could smell victory in the air. W. Jensen wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for R. Turjeman after 65 minutes. With 67 minutes played, Middledevils put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Datković, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After this, you could see that the players of Middledevils were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Doblougløkka's M. Bankov was shown a yellow card after 70 minutes for slicing down an opponent. V. Matos finished off the counterattack of Doblougløkka from the left rather easily, making the score 4 - 1. Given a free kick close to the byline, Middledevils tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let A. Delacourt slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 1, 76 minutes into the game. After 83 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and A. Delacourt gave the Middledevils supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 1. Middledevils claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Middledevils's top performer was clearly L. Elen. However, D. Sztanek made a disastrous appearance. Doblougløkka's best player was H. Bengtsson. P. Nilsen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 1.
