Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Bønner og Løk Arena saw a crowd turnout of 52622.
Lasse Tomasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Girdutis Rozgys and
Mathias Kristoffersen.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Akershus derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Spencers had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Arend - Beltrán, Monteagudo - Brehoi, Santacruz, Jaśkowiec, Strobach, Aarstad - Musa, Uruski, Thorsen.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Bonglads.
The following players had been chosen: Duranay - Villemsaar, Ruiz Vadillo, Benjaminsen, Nelke - de Rijke, Ander, Lage, Dávila - Nobre, Drake.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Bonglads.
The visiting
X. Ander was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 4 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
A tussle 6 minutes into the match resulted in a penalty being awarded to the home team and
D. Beltrán put the ball into the back of the net without any difficulty. That tied the score up at 1 - 1.
After a fine move down the middle
K. Uruski nearly gave the home side a goal after 9 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
H. Aarstad's speed was clear to see after 21 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
A. Thorsen who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 1.
K. Uruski unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
H. Aarstad had a fantastic opportunity to put Spencers up another goal 25 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
With the clock showing 26 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Bonglads resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
H. Dávila in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high.
The referee showed Bonglads's
B. Nobre the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.
Spencers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Bonglads showed their counterattack skill 53 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
Ó. Drake scoring uncontested for 2 - 2.
As the 65 minute mark approached, the Bonglads coach decided it was time for a substitution.
H. Dávila reluctantly made way for
K. Breivik on the pitch.
Spencers broke through on the left 68 minutes into the game, with
C. Brehoi firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead.
The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Bonglads's coach gave
C. Covach the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
B. Nobre reluctantly left the field.
X. Ander became the new Bonglads captain.
After 82 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
A. Musa gave the Spencers supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 2.
Spencers claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Spencers's top performer was clearly
A. Musa.
On the other hand,
D. Beltrán's play was disheartening.
Most important Bonglads player was
Ó. Drake.
K. Breivik was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 2.
