Smelvær showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Stonistars after 30 minutes to make the score 2 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gnafle, with 64 percent of the ball.

After 48 minutes of play, E. Mandel gave the home team a 3 - 2 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E.
