(384110860)

16-06-2012 16.00
46051 fans braved the pouring rain at
Ulvane Stadium.
Glenn Jacobs was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mickey Rosewell and
Sébastien Mas.
SULF had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Agüero - Ciobanu, Shalit, Novell - Hadaš, Sundby, Reul, Jensen, Pizzi - Saubot, Larsen.
Nisserne started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Starters: Szalai - van Dijck, Liberzon, Degen - Maceira, Speelman, 云宏 (Yunhong), Schiefer - Schwarm, Monsen, Petersen-Aust.
Nisserne mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
E. Schiefer.
After 16 minutes of play,
J. Larsen gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
Nisserne players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Coming through the middle
F. Schwarm almost scored the equaliser for Nisserne after 20 minutes, but
A. Agüero made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
With 27 minutes played,
O. Hadaš could have brought this one home for SULF as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
P. Monsen's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 29 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
F. Schwarm who knocked it in for Nisserne. 1 - 1!
1 - 2 was the score with 30 minutes played, after
O. Degen cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Nisserne.
With 39 minutes having been played, SULF scored to make it 2 - 2. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
M. Reul was marked down as the scorer.
Halftime score was 2 - 2.
SULF claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
P. Monsen spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch.
With 68 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 3 - 2 lead as
H. Saubot flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
The referee showed SULF's
H. Saubot the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Nisserne, as
A. Speelman left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
C. Moreira took his place on the field.
SULF managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when
M. Sundby cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After 87 minutes,
M. Sundby put SULF ahead 5 - 2 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SULF, with 56 percent of the ball.
J. Larsen performed admirably for SULF.
However,
V. Novell made a disastrous appearance.
Nisserne's best player was
M. Petersen-Aust.
C. Moreira on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 2.
