Clear skies welcomed the 55270 spectators who had made their way to Bekkenløkka stadion. Václav Rybníček was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Freddy Lasserre and Olaf Knarren. Samboca decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Maréchal - Vestby, Colban, Lobo - Davidsen, Fjørtoft, Būmanis, Linman, Schmidt - Johansen, Johnsen.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Olavs Menn. They fielded: Stensby - Ødegaard, Nordlund, Talberg - Martinussen, Gleditsch, Molgren, Hansen, Mikkelsen - Krosby, Ingvaldsen.

Olavs Menn tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Samboca's S. Lobo had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 7 minutes having been played. T. Some fine movement on the left led to a Olavs Menn goal after 34 minutes, making it 0 - 2. T. Mikkelsen was noted down as the scorer. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when S. Schmidt scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. The corner kick from D. Hansen was powerfully met by the head of O. Ødegaard to make the score 1 - 3. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 37 minutes, Olavs Menn did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, T. Mikkelsen was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 4. It was 1 - 4 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Olavs Menn, with 54 percent of the ball.

A marvellous Samboca effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 54 minutes by T. Martinsen, making the score 2 - 4. With 54 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, T. Martinsen needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The home crowd cheered when, after 63 minutes, A. Krosby's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Olavs Menn's E. Talberg placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Å. Ingvaldsen couldn't finish. Olavs Menn were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 79 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave D. Hansen a chance to increase the lead for Olavs Menn, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 5. The referee signalled a penalty 80 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. D. Hansen knocked it home to make the score 2 - 6. At that, D. Hansen was noted down for a hat trick! Confident in their lead, Olavs Menn's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Possession in this half belonged to Olavs Menn, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

A. Johansen performed admirably for Samboca. On the other hand, T. Martinsen's play was disheartening. Olavs Menn's best player was A. Krosby. However, T. Mikkelsen made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 6.
