12000 fans braved the pouring rain at Gressmyra Stadion. Louis Benschop was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rients Westelaken and Aldopaolo Marchini. People from all over Nordland had joined up for the derby. Maguna tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Glimt saw most attack opportunities on the wings. V. Östling, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Glimt's J. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Maguna, as O. Kindbom left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. K. Pedersen took his place on the field. Players in Glimt heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. With 17 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Aspenerberg of Glimt to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like P. Kolsrud. With 33 minutes played, Glimt put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was P. Tullsten. The referee showed Maguna's M. Godholt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. J. Martínez increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4. After 38 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed G. Schümatschek to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Glimt lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. It was 0 - 5 at the break. Glimt claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

A drive down the left side allowed J. Martínez to get in close and score another goal for Glimt after 66 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6. Maguna's E. Brynildsen got himself booked for a foul. After 68 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. Aspenerberg a chance to increase the lead for Glimt, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 7. L. Frontaurea didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. The home crowd was not impressed when A. Milano came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 79 minutes. Glimt were now up 0 - 8. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Broborg from Maguna a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 82 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for A. Milano who increased Glimt's lead to 0 - 9. 83 minutes into the game, L. Frontaurea had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came J. Farfán. Glimt increased their lead after 83 minutes when H. Pautasso broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 10, much to the home crowd's dismay. M. Godholt remonstrated furiously with the referee after Maguna had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. Glimt enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 88 percent of possession.

Maguna's top performer was clearly B. Bach. On the other hand, H. Hallan's play was disheartening. The most dominating Glimt player was without a doubt A. Milano. H. Pautasso on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 10.
