Dark skies made the crowd of 38410 at Hodne beach a little nervous, but the rain held off. Christofer Paier was the appointed referee. United had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Gonzene started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Roen - Luolavuo, Tveiten, Capdevila - Opseth, Beneitez, Tollefsen, Ortiz, Rochford - Dudda, Szematowicz.

Gonzene seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to D. De Rose, but the United player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 22 minutes, United did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, D. Serres was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0. The players of United now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 23 minutes into the match D. De Rose put United ahead 3 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. United's D. De Rose increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 26 minutes. That made three goals for D. De Rose and he was marked down for the hat trick. Gonzene's G. Opseth got himself booked for a foul. M. Kryeziu of United had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. P. Favale came in to finish the match. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in United's D. Serres increasing the lead to 5 - 0. United's O. Moreno proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 6 - 0. After 43 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Gonzene was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. 44 minutes into the match United's G. Danninger viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Gonzene, as G. Ortiz left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. S. Gersmann took his place on the field. Halftime score was 6 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to United, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

With 59 minutes played, United's T. Quasten almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. The score became 7 - 0 at 77 minutes into the game, when United were given a penalty which D. De Rose blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! D. De Rose increased the lead for United to 8 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! United's D. De Rose somehow missed a penalty 81 minutes into the match, much to the crowd's displeasure. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by United, with 59 percent of the ball.

United's best player was D. De Rose. P. Favale was a disappointment, however. Most important Gonzene player was M. Tollefsen. E. Roen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 8 - 0.
