Kølla-FC 0 - 7 Gbasa (384137415)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 9363 had shown up at Kølla-FC Arena for the match. Hervé Boucton was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Daniel Davidsson and Esa Uuksula. Kølla-FC tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Hagenes - Hodne, Sandanger, Jordet, Haugland - Kristoffersen, Fagerland, Lie, Opdal - Hætta, Åbotsvik.

Gbasa had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Kaasin - Çömlekçi, Josipi, Güntöre - Santelmann, Jørgensen, Eisemann, Pinau, Wanvik - Sumarliðason, Lehtosaari.

Gbasa preferred to finish off their attacks from a distance. D. Eisemann came close to putting the visiting team one up 10 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but K. Hagenes managed to tip the ball to a corner. It was obvious that the tactic of the day for Gbasa was to go for long shots, but in order to score they have to do better than the shooting attempt from F. Santelmann after 24 minutes, which was a total failure. With 25 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. G. Josipi put the ball away for 0 - 1. 28 minutes into the match Kølla-FC's O. Jordet head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. The goal for 0 - 2 was a funny story: after 34 minutes the seemingly nonchalant lob from Gbasa's J. Wanvik landed at the feet of J. Lehtosaari who sidefooted it into the net - nice goal! After 40 minutes, Gbasa's J. Lehtosaari burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Gbasa's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 41 minutes played, P. Haugland of Kølla-FC fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 44 minutes played, Gbasa put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was D. Eisemann. Halftime score was 0 - 4. Gbasa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 87 percent of possession.

K. Sumarliðason received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 49 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Gbasa fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. T. Güntöre left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 50 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. C. Eriksen was the replacement. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Gbasa coach let J. Butryn replace L. Pinau after 50 minutes. The Gbasa players could smell victory in the air. J. Wanvik wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Ø. Solheim after 50 minutes. The visitors' K. Sumarliðason took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 52 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Gbasa. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Gbasa's G. Josipi put the visitors up 0 - 7 after 60 minutes. After 72 minutes Gbasa showed some great patience outside the penalty area, waiting until Ø. Solheim could find the right opportunity to finish off the attack from distance. The long shot, however, was an easy catch for K. Hagenes. Gbasa's C. Eriksen was shown a yellow card after 76 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Ø. Solheim was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 77 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 80 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Kølla-FC's L. Hodne to one side and produced a red card for the player. Gbasa had most of the ball, with 90 percent of possession.

Kølla-FC's best player was T. Åbotsvik. K. Hagenes was a disappointment, however. O. Jørgensen performed admirably for Gbasa. Ø. Solheim turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
