Clear skies welcomed the 33771 spectators who had made their way to
Crystal Lake Park.
Aki Kouvonen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Floris-Jan van der Lijn and
Epi Vredenbregt.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Fiplingdal.
Lineup: Dziaduś - Kim, Magnussen, Caubet - Otterlei, Westerlaken, Osis, Elstad, Grønseth - Sundal, Kvåle.
Sveklingene had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Singh - Fossen, Kalstad, Tofte - Christiansson, Rongved, Rappaport, Ovesen, Trust - Evensen, Goksøyr.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
R. Westerlaken, but the Fiplingdal player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
With 25 minutes played,
Ø. Otterlei of Fiplingdal fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
After 27 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
M. Grønseth might have resulted in another goal for Fiplingdal. However,
M. Singh made a spectacular save.
Fiplingdal put themselves up 2 - 0 when
M. Kvåle broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
H. Christiansson of Sveklingene received a yellow card after 40 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.

Fiplingdal had a magnificent opportunity after 47 minutes as
F. Caubet hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Fiplingdal to 3 - 0 as
O. Sundal finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
The Fiplingdal free kick 57 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
O. Magnussen, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 4 - 0!
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Fiplingdal lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Fiplingdal coach let
J. Thorstensen replace
M. Kvåle after 58 minutes.
O. Magnussen unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Sveklingene's
S. Goksøyr was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 64 minutes.
M. Landro was given a chance to change things around.
Sveklingene needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 69 minutes
G. Trust made way for
M. Jazayeri.
The bench was restless, and with 78 minutes passed Sveklingene's coach gave
T. Matsson the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
H. Christiansson reluctantly left the field.
Fiplingdal claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.
R. Westerlaken performed admirably for Fiplingdal.
F. Elstad turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Sveklingene player was without a doubt
V. Evensen.
Y. Rongved on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 0.
