Clear skies welcomed the 9295 spectators who had made their way to Aalers Arena. Espen Hagen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hennes Mertl and Teo Bledowa Bledwoski. Nerdebrillene clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. After 20 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Nerdebrillene was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. With 26 minutes played, J. Sørloth of Aalers fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 27 minutes, Nerdebrillene's J. Dubenis made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. With 29 minutes played, Nerdebrillene's A. Arce missed a penalty when the keeper made a premature dive in the right direction, and palmed the ball out of the way. With 34 minutes played, B. Shirazi nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After 35 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for L. Helderman who increased Nerdebrillene's lead to 0 - 2. After 39 minutes Nerdebrillene's J. Dubenis contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Nerdebrillene enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 79 percent of possession.

After 56 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave J. Dubenis a chance to increase the lead for Nerdebrillene, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. By now, the players in Nerdebrillene felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Nerdebrillene made it 0 - 4 as A. Bley got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to M. Galizzi who whipped a low drive in off the far post. It was obvious that team Nerdebrillene had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. E. Overå received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 67 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Nerdebrillene fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Aalers's D. Kyvik was shown a yellow card after 71 minutes for slicing down an opponent. There was concern in the stands when, at the 74 minute mark, Aalers's D. Hansen hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. The visitors' A. Arce took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 75 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Nerdebrillene. After 76 minutes, Nerdebrillene's Z. Šimenc burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 7. With 77 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed L. Helderman of Nerdebrillene to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8. Nerdebrillene had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.

Aalers's best player was T. Reppen. R. Meek on the other hand, had a terrible day. A. Arce performed admirably for Nerdebrillene. B. Shirazi was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 8.
