Sundli received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 6 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Poteten fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Confident in their lead, Poteten's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 15 minutes into the match, the speedy D. Melby easily outpaced K. Engvik, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 3. 17 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as D. Melby finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. By then D. Melby had scored three goals - a hat trick! That Poteten's H. Sundli has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to D. Melby who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 22 minutes: 0 - 5! Poteten increased their lead after 27 minutes when M. Nilsen broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 6, much to the home crowd's dismay. With 31 minutes played, Poteten put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was D. Melby. After 33 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave M. Nilsen a chance to increase the lead for Poteten, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 8. It was 0 - 8 at the break. Poteten had most of the ball, with 86 percent of possession.

Poteten's D. Melby proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 0 - 9. After 68 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for M. Tveit who increased Poteten's lead to 0 - 10. Some fine movement on the left led to a Poteten goal after 75 minutes, making it 0 - 11. H. Sundli was noted down as the scorer. R. Venås of Sandnes was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A drive down the left side allowed D. Melby to get in close and score another goal for Poteten after 80 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 12. With 83 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Bråthen of Poteten to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 13. Poteten enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 87 percent of possession.

Sandnes's best player was M. Guntveit. On the other hand, D. Bjørnebye's play was disheartening. M. Tveit performed admirably for Poteten. B. Romsåshagen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 13.
