The Hamarbirds fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. J. Kaljunen increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Hamarbirds's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The visitors' R. Toscano took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 26 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Hamarbirds. It was 0 - 4 at the break. Hamarbirds claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 87 percent.

With 47 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, A. Klingenberg needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. D. Ketzkarov could have put his team up another goal 49 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After the ball was lifted in from the left, J. Jensen was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 78 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. fotballidioter's G. Moen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 80 minutes. J. Kaljunen sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from K. Steinsland after 81 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 5. After 82 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave J. Westelaken a chance to increase the lead for Hamarbirds, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. fotballidioter's S. Lunde got himself booked for a foul. After 84 minutes, Hamarbirds's J. Jensen burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 7. With 85 minutes played, Hamarbirds put themselves up 0 - 8 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Q. Cômodo. G. Moen remonstrated furiously with the referee after fotballidioter had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. Hamarbirds enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 92 percent of possession.

fotballidioter's top performer was clearly K. Moltu. A. Lilleøren was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Hamarbirds player was without a doubt V. Bakken. On the other hand, J. Kaljunen's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 8.
