Monsen almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 16 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Carls was B. Elnes. B. Elnes should probably have put his team up another goal after 20 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by J. Pettersen kept the visitors in the game. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as haldenso's A. Osgjelten put the ball in the onion bag after 33 minutes to make it 1 - 1. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 34 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from S. Børseth, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Carls, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Carls's J. Monsen saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 56 minutes. B. Elnes wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. H. Jetmundsen could have increased the lead after 71 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 73 minutes in, Carls's M. Underdal received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 77 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after A. Osgjelten came through the middle, but his kick went wide. A great save by keeper J. Pettersen after 78 minutes kept the visitors in the game after K. Årvik struck from the left with a real cannonball. haldenso's H. Mathiesen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 80 minutes. Carls had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

The most dominating Carls player was without a doubt B. Elnes. J. Monsen on the other hand, had a terrible day. haldenso's top performer was clearly P. Kvammen. J. Pettersen turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
