Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and The JC Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 54283. Dakis Tsouros was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martin-Ortwin Lommer and Alfonso Palacios. Allstars started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Borzyszkowski - Blackthorn, Sandeman, Valley, Stott - MacKeller, Baltar, Kristiansen, Tejedor - Pardo, Kudlak.

Dunkys decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Starters: Neil - Elder, Baillie, Hughson - Restoune, Inglis, Kennedy, MacO'Shannaig - Mowat, McPhadden, O'Halloran.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Allstars. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Dunkys. 16 minutes into the game, J. O'Halloran almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. E. Mowat of Dunkys was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish A. Sandeman, which resulted in a goal making the score 0 - 1. Allstars tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. The home crowd cheered when, after 38 minutes, E. Mowat's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. 39 minutes in, Allstars's T. Kudlak received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The crowd roared in delight as K. Kristiansen finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Allstars 40 minutes into the match. 1 - 1. Dunkys had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 42 minutes in when J. O'Halloran came up alone against K. Borzyszkowski who managed a block. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

Dunkys's S. Elder gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 56 minutes with a superb strike from the right. After 61 minutes of play, F. Stott evened things up for Allstars with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. Many thought M. Tejedor ought to have been awarded a penalty 62 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around C. Neil after a determined run through the middle. The visiting S. Elder was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 63 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Allstars's T. Blackthorn was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 65 minutes. A. Rubin was given a chance to change things around. 68 minutes in, and Allstars were able to score the equalising goal to make it 3 - 3 when A. Sandeman picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. After 71 minutes, Dunkys put themselves up 3 - 4, as M. Restoune finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave K. Kristiansen from Allstars a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! C. MacO'Shannaig of Dunkys had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. K. MacAdie came in to finish the match. After 75 minutes of play, A. Pardo equalised for Allstars after an elegant attack from the right. Allstars had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Allstars's best player was A. Sandeman. M. Tejedor was a disappointment, however. Dunkys's top performer was clearly E. Mowat. However, M. Hughson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 4.
