Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at allin33 Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Thomas Borg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peter Falkbratt and Jerome Hurst. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for allin33. They fielded: Jackson - Smith, MacKevor, Perry, McNally - Barton, Taymouth, McKernachan, Etherstone - Weston, Grimshaw.

championselect started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Wiltshire - Sumner, Clunie, Granger, Boitani - McNight, Glancy, FitzGerald, Beaton - Tindale, Dailly.

The guests took the lead 6 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in K. Sumner scoring to make it 0 - 1. No matter how hard he tried, D. Smith just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 7 minutes. The home crowd cheered when, after 9 minutes, C. Boitani's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. A drive down the left side allowed A. Granger to get in close and score another goal for championselect after 14 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. championselect's J. Clunie startled R. Beaton with an unexpected pass. Unfortunately, the receiver was too stunned by the play to convert the perfect setup into a goal. R. Beaton of championselect received a yellow card after 24 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. championselect enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.

championselect's T. FitzGerald refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 60 minutes. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 71 minutes, championselect did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, J. Clunie was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 3. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, K. Dailly demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for championselect 80 minutes into the match made the score 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of championselect lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. allin33's C. Etherstone found himself alone on the left side 85 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! C. Boitani was, after 86 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper K. Jackson made the save. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, T. FitzGerald would have put championselect up another goal 87 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Possession in this half belonged to championselect, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

B. MacKevor performed admirably for allin33. K. Jackson was a disappointment, however. championselect's top performer was clearly T. FitzGerald. D. Wiltshire on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
