28-07-2012 18.00
Due to an all-day shower, 51748 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Friedrich-Nietzsche-Arena.
Göpf Sprater was the appointed referee.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Nibelungen.
Starters: Ponthieux - Gabruś, Zemlyanko, Dilsafa - Paizoni, Beyler, Bugs, Euringer, Deißenböck - 勇迪 (Yongdi), Mörä.
Marzahn started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Pisilä - Trybuś, Binnenland, Bielmeier - Wucherpfennig, Hahn-Frühwirth, Serr, Lürssen, Lind - Brown, Persson.
Today, Marzahn's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Marzahn's
B. Bielmeier after 20 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
Marzahn's
E. Lind made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 21 minutes into the match.
I. Persson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
I. Brown.
Nibelungen's
D. Dilsafa was shown a yellow card after 32 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Nibelungen's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 33 minutes into the match as
H. Mörä ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2.
贝. 勇迪 (Yongdi) of Nibelungen received a yellow card after 34 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nibelungen, with 55 percent of the ball.
B. Bielmeier finished off the counterattack of Marzahn from the left rather easily, making the score 1 - 3.
A. Deißenböck did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
The visitors added to their lead 69 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Marzahn's
E. Lind slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 4.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
T. Bugs broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 2 - 4.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Nibelungen's
D. Dilsafa was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 87 minutes.
A. Kwade was given a chance to change things around.
After 88 minutes, Nibelungen switched
T. Bugs with
S. Potsdam, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Nibelungen had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Nibelungen's best player was
贝. 勇迪 (Yongdi).
On the other hand,
H. Paizoni's play was disheartening.
Most important Marzahn player was
I. Persson.
I. Brown turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 4.
