Haşimzadə managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, E. Teolato would have put Zankenhausen up another goal 23 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. With 28 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Zankenhausen resulted in a counterattack that set E. Kalby free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Lumpen tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Zankenhausen increased the lead to 1 - 3 as D. Aichner scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. It was 1 - 3 at the break. Zankenhausen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Kalby got himself booked. The manager of Zankenhausen was not happy. Zankenhausen's E. Teolato had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 58 minutes having been played. Å. Helveg was the replacement. Lumpen had a brilliant opportunity to reply as K. Ozimina received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only M. Selkić's reflexes saved him. C. Marcelli received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 62 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Zankenhausen fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After this, you could see that the players of Zankenhausen were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. A drive down the left side allowed K. Burian to get in close and score another goal for Zankenhausen after 69 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. The bench was restless, and with 72 minutes passed Lumpen's coach gave L. Zwald the opportunity the player had been hoping for. K. Kariuki reluctantly left the field. Lumpen needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 77 minutes K. Ozimina made way for S. Petrovski. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as H. Balleis tried lifting the ball over keeper M. Selkić. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. After 82 minutes, Lumpen switched R. Haupt with R. Giese, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. S. Petrovski was handed the Lumpen captain's armband.
