Voltaren fans held their breath as M. Infante Cicala scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Greven from Voltaren a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 29 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! With 32 minutes played, Voltaren put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Z. Ekpe, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Chaosclub kept trying to force their way through on the right side and F. Weissenseel got his chance after 38 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. After 44 minutes, Chaosclub's F. Weissenseel swiftly ran past M. Schöpf and nutmegged the keeper! 2 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Voltaren enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Voltaren managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when H. Greven cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Chaosclub breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 55 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. The home side failed to add to their score as R. Latrão shot a penalty wide after 56 minutes. With 60 minutes played, the Chaosclub coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. E. Kima came on, A. Vireca had to leave the fray. Chaosclub needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes R. Liebelt made way for M. Karmann. M. Karmann was handed the Chaosclub captain's armband. A. Pirondini had a lethal looking free kick that grazed the post after 70 minutes. The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 2, as Ø. Lægreid struck home, set up well by a play on the left 72 minutes into the match. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Rosenstingl got himself booked. The manager of Voltaren was not happy. There was concern in the stands when, at the 81 minute mark, Chaosclub's M. Karmann hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Chaosclub's E. Kima was shown a yellow card after 82 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Voltaren, F. Freidl was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. A. Wolfsdorf replaced him. Voltaren had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

Voltaren's best player was M. Infante Cicala. A. Hettenkofer turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Verbeke performed admirably for Chaosclub. M. Karmann on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
