The 62519 spectators at
Piefkeacker were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Rodolfo Cabrão was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alphonse Viaud and
Jean-Claude Massé.
Superwixens started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Gspan - Ifrach, Jungmann, Döbrösi - Dupuis, Fevola, Bittersdorf, Winkelmayr, Cauldwell - Kolov, Osełka.
keePonROLLInbeybä had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
They fielded: Vinsten - Pimiskern, Nuñez Puerta, Roschig, Rieke - Gadorosi, Van der Auwermeulen, Schlütterf, Luding, Sorrentino - Aittamäki.
The sun seemed to put
M. Aittamäki in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
After 23 minutes,
S. Kolov came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Superwixens the lead.
The home side's
A. Osełka came close to extending the lead 31 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
A. Vinsten managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
N. Dupuis should probably have put his team up another goal after 35 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
A. Vinsten kept the visitors in the game.
Good work by the keePonROLLInbeybä defensive line after 36 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
M. Aittamäki alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
L. Schlütterf of keePonROLLInbeybä seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
M. Nuñez Puerta.
42 minutes into the game,
M. Aittamäki was a hair's breadth away from giving keePonROLLInbeybä the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
H. Gspan saved the home team that time.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Superwixens enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
D. Sorrentino had a good opportunity to give keePonROLLInbeybä the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
Many thought
D. Cauldwell ought to have been awarded a penalty 54 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
A. Vinsten after a determined run through the middle.
After 60 minutes, the Superwixens coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach.
S. Kolov dispatched a majestic long shot 63 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres.
Superwixens's
A. Osełka tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
Priding himself in being an active coach, the Superwixens manager gave new instructions to his players after 70 minutes.
They were singing the praises of
A. Osełka 71 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Superwixens.
Superwixens had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
S. Kolov performed admirably for Superwixens.
H. Gspan was a disappointment, however.
keePonROLLInbeybä's top performer was clearly
A. Vinsten.
However,
H. Gadorosi made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 1.
