For their match strategy, Wittlich had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave BallBrofis the lead 17 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. N. Stater delivered a good free kick from an excellent position 18 minutes into the game, but luck wasn't on BallBrofis's side this time and the ball went wide. As H. Dunda had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Wittlich player a red card without batting an eyelid. In a fantastic display of determination, BallBrofis's D. Schäffer forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. With 27 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. L. Vătăşescu put the ball away for 0 - 1. BallBrofis came close to extending their lead as M. Tuvhult delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 31 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 33 minutes into the match. N. Stater surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. With 34 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Wittlich resulted in a counterattack that set A. Agulleiro free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to BallBrofis, who controlled the ball 92 percent of the time.

Wittlich were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 72 minutes, K. Penzel swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 1. Wittlich almost scored after a swift counterattack 79 minutes into the game, but S. Fries put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when A. Gorocín was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 83 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Wittlich had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 84 minutes, but R. Prior's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. BallBrofis's P. Berg Sørensen could have put the guests one up after 88 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but M. Dau was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Good work by the Wittlich defensive line after 89 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found L. Baumann alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. BallBrofis claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 92 percent.

Most important Wittlich player was S. Fries. J. Rupprich was a disappointment, however. The most dominating BallBrofis player was without a doubt S. Calzolari. G. Trapolino turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
