04-08-2012 18.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 50610 that came out to
Sportplatz am Steinweg.
Heinz Rausch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bogdan Popescu and
Tomas Meves.
Dornstedt decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Scherlowsky - Paeshuys, Brynildsen, Cantón - Nielen, Wierzgacz, Muñoz, José Liano, Tkacz - Erbenheim, Dyjas.
beverlys started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
The following players took the field: Laev - Gille, Corvin - Oviedo Díaz, Denifl, Grahn, Mugrauer, Willim - Laguna, Moncau, Bunea.
Dornstedt fans held their breath as
S. Nielen scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
With clinical precision, the cross from winger
G. Tkacz found its way to
W. Dyjas's head, and a screaming header gave Dornstedt the goal after 15 minutes played. 2 - 0
Confident in their lead, Dornstedt's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 38 minutes,
G. Tkacz put Dornstedt ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
With 44 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, beverlys showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 1 when
M. Laguna got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
beverlys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
G. Tkacz found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat.
beverlys's
F. Mugrauer was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 69 minutes.
beverlys came close to narrowing the gap when
L. Oviedo Díaz's free kick nearly made it past the outstretched hands of
P. Scherlowsky after 81 minutes.
With the clock showing 82 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Dornstedt resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
W. Dyjas in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high.
F. Mugrauer was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
A. Denifl, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
It wasn't a good day at all for
R. Wierzgacz. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Dornstedt to 4 - 1 as
B. Cantón finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
B. Cantón wanted to play on, but the Dornstedt coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by
N. Schützenhof.
89 minutes into the game,
B. Brynildsen had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
X. Sáez.
beverlys claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Most important Dornstedt player was
F. Erbenheim.
N. Schützenhof was a disappointment, however.
beverlys's best player was
P. Moncau.
However,
W. Willim made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 1.
