previous 3/10 next 5/10  Blau 3 - 3 Ehst (384298109)

33493 spectators arrived at Denkmalstadion, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Stefan Mistelbauer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alexander Fandel and Hendrik Hanuss. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Blau. The following players took the field: Krauth - Gaßner, Reinwald, Piomenos - Lakomý, Harscher, Utriainen, Charlot, Gardas - Fischer, Dias.

Ehst tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Neißl - Luisser, Aquiahuatl, Panke - Jakovljević, Maya, Bittrich, Hartmannsgruber, Weiser - Rohwedder, Weintraube.

A questionable penalty 7 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as K. Charlot knocked the ball home. W. Krauth's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from T. Luisser's shot from the left 15 minutes into the match. G. Reinwald increased the lead for Blau to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Blau's H. Harscher got himself booked for a foul. After 33 minutes, F. Lakomý put Blau ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Blau had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

Given a free kick close to the byline, Ehst tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let M. Weiser slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 1, 52 minutes into the game. The home team's fans were upset when, after 57 minutes, the visiting J. Rohwedder broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 3 - 2 was the score. After 60 minutes, Ehst used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Ehst's M. Weiser put the ball in the onion bag after 65 minutes to make it 3 - 3. Blau's S. Fischer tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Blau enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Blau's top performer was clearly A. Dias. J. Gardas was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Ehst player was without a doubt M. Weiser. F. Neißl turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 3.
