previous 7/10 next 9/10  Martinsstadt 2 - 1 Fubber (384319664)

23474 spectators had come to Stadion Martinsstadt this cloudy day. Teppo Nisukangas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jonas Olenling and Heribert Grois. Martinsstadt had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Pecher - Bledowa, Rammelmayr, Rohgahn - Micheli, Zabunović, Guschl, Ofterdinger, Gusner - Glathe, Allach.

Fubber started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Solms - Kleydorff, Gagić, Intorf, Berghuber, Markgraf-Schultes - Iluz, Díaz de Cadorniga, Rotkirch, Maniezzo - Casanueva.

For their match strategy, Fubber had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 20 minutes into the game Fubber managed a counterattack, but E. Rotkirch took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. With 34 minutes gone, K. Markgraf-Schultes suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Fubber caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Martinsstadt enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Allach, but the Martinsstadt player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 68 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Martinsstadt's H. Rammelmayr to one side and produced a red card for the player. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, O. Bledowa took over the role of being the Martinsstadt captain. Martinsstadt solidified their lead at the 73 minute mark, as C. Ofterdinger dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. Martinsstadt's V. Zabunović left the field after 78 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Liniger. G. Casanueva finished off the counterattack of Fubber from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 1. Martinsstadt claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Most important Martinsstadt player was C. Ofterdinger. G. Gusner on the other hand, had a terrible day. Fubber's best player was A. Solms. On the other hand, E. Rotkirch's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
