Clouds darkened the skies at
Jubelsümpfe as 29417 spectators turned up for the match.
Rintje Blummel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
侯 (Hou) 勇宾 (Yongbin) and
Miki Määttä.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Blindpumpe.
Starters: Bedoya - Minasyan, Wallaschek, Laut - Żbik, Seikowsky, Norden, Almeida, Leidorfer - Paradiso, Himmel.
Bulldogs tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Molteni - Urban, Wagnefeldt - Legros, Wirth, Eltag, Straubhaar, Nappias - Păucean, De Paoli, Schmuck.
0 - 1 was the score with 15 minutes played, after
M. Wirth cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Bulldogs.
M. Paradiso of Blindpumpe seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
W. Himmel.
M. Urban delivered a good free kick from an excellent position 20 minutes into the game, but luck wasn't on Bulldogs's side this time and the ball went wide.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
M. Wallaschek scored for Blindpumpe putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 27 minutes.
2 - 1 was the halftime score.
Blindpumpe claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
Blindpumpe were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 52 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
W. Himmel. 3 - 1 for the home side.
After this, you could see that the players of Blindpumpe were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Bulldogs were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 53 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
G. Nappias, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 2.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Blindpumpe scored another to make it 4 - 2 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
A. Żbik after 73 minutes.
K. Seikowsky of Blindpumpe received a yellow card after 77 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
M. Laut could have put Blindpumpe up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 78 minutes.
Blindpumpe enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
Blindpumpe's top performer was clearly
M. Paradiso.
H. Leidorfer turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Bulldogs player was
S. Schmuck.
F. Molteni on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 2.
