(384346014)

11-08-2012 18.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
Crazy Horses Arena as 23842 spectators turned up for the match.
Tobias Faul was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sjakie Franssen and
Vítek Kozár.
Horses started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Logar - Dudschke, Westner, Aydar - Bahnsen, Grekopoulos, Scheufler, Kobus, Krebsförden - Varel, Schall.
Wolverine had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
The following players took the field: Puchala - Stettner, Rundblad, Heep, Bruininx, Oginskiy - Bauern, Groening, Passage, Cornet - Gerad.
For their match strategy, Wolverine had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
With 9 minutes played
L. Dudschke almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
Slack defending gave Horses a chance to take the lead with 29 minutes played, but
A. Schall's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
30 minutes into the game, Wolverine seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
Making his way up the middle 36 minutes into the match,
P. Bahnsen almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
T. Puchala blocked it to keep the score level.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Horses had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
During the break, Wolverine's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Wolverine substitution.
J. Muehlholm came on for
V. Gerad.
54 minutes in, the referee awarded Horses a penalty.
O. Grekopoulos coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead.
After 55 minutes, Horses were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
S. Westner did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
After 75 minutes, Wolverine switched
T. Passage with
N. Baron, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Horses enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
The most dominating Horses player was without a doubt
A. Schall.
T. Logar turned in a dismal performance, however.
Wolverine's best player was
J. Muehlholm.
T. Puchala on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 0.
