Clouds darkened the skies at
Millerntor as 30072 spectators turned up for the match.
Zsombor Bokor was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Daniel Folea and
Carmelo da Degrada.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for St.Pauli06.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
B. Halimi, but the St.Pauli06 player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Coming from the right,
B. Halimi almost managed to score another goal for St.Pauli06, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.

S. Meretei had an excellent opportunity after 20 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
H. Jagusch squirmed through their central defence after 26 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
30 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
I. Wilman broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for St.Pauli06.
Confident in their lead, St.Pauli06's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
St.Pauli06 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.
A lunatic dribble by
N. Kaenel, in front of his own keeper, set up St.Pauli06's
S. Meretei for an embarrassingly easy strike after 48 minutes. 4 - 0!
It was obvious that team St.Pauli06 had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Cheers filled the stadium as
P. Isla broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to St.Pauli06.
The score became 6 - 0 at 55 minutes into the game, when St.Pauli06 were given a penalty which
P. Isla blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in St.Pauli06's
A. Monje increasing the lead to 7 - 0.
St.Pauli06 solidified their lead at the 68 minute mark, as
S. Meretei dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 8 - 0.

B. Halimi got himself booked for a foul.

P. Isla put St.Pauli06 ahead 9 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick.
By then
P. Isla had scored three goals - a hat trick!
St.Pauli06 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 89 percent.
S. Meretei performed admirably for St.Pauli06.
However,
B. Halimi made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Lokomotive player was
O. Bommhardt.
M. Kruijenaar turned in a dismal performance, however.
