Amazonicos 3 - 1 Weimar
(384401945)

28-07-2012 18.30
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 35352 had shown up at
Estadio "El-Imperio-Puma" for the match.
Fredrik Edland was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nathanael Honegger and
Francesc Garcia.
Amazonicos tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
They fielded: Jūliņš - Kharinskiy, Gustafsson, Hofer - van de Ruit, Zambrano, Lier, Safroshin - Isenring, Kaijasilta, Bulanda.
Weimar had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Weichselbaumer - Potrč, Brennemühlen, Geoffroy - Brkić, Dezamics, Moga, Backović, Rito - Laveggi, Tanghe.
Weimar were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
Weimar took the lead after 4 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
J. Geoffroy placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
The crowd roared in delight as
J. Kaijasilta finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Amazonicos 23 minutes into the match. 1 - 1.
Weimar's
H. Potrč was shown a yellow card after 24 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Amazonicos's
V. Kharinskiy refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 30 minutes.
Amazonicos made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
B. Bulanda completely alone with keeper
S. Weichselbaumer, who made a spectacular block.
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
Amazonicos had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
One of many good crosses from
G. van de Ruit on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
F. Isenring, who scored for Amazonicos. 2 - 1
H. Brennemühlen of Weimar was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
An equalising goal seemed certain after 66 minutes when
J. Geoffroy attacked down the left wing, but
G. Jūliņš just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net.
Amazonicos's
Y. Safroshin swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
After 76 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
G. van de Ruit might have resulted in another goal for Amazonicos. However,
S. Weichselbaumer made a spectacular save.
Cheers filled the stadium as
M. Hofer broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to Amazonicos.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Dezamics from Weimar a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Unfortunately for Amazonicos,
G. Jūliņš was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
W. Berlepsch replaced him.
Possession in this half belonged to Amazonicos, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Most important Amazonicos player was
F. Isenring.
On the other hand,
W. Berlepsch's play was disheartening.
The most dominating Weimar player was without a doubt
S. Laveggi.
J. Geoffroy turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
