It had rained all day, but 22071 hardy fans still made it out to
Am Arsch der Welt.
Paco Reyna was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
José Ramón Agudo and
José Manuel González.
Havelland tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Rubiś - Karsai, Wieland-Papaleo, Delande - Frobenius, Lenertz, Naberezhnev, Pieronkiewicz - Serretti, Mutavdžić, Mullen.
A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FC GAF.
The following players took the field: Firsov - Nicoletti, Kelso, Wunglück, Santzkau, Pupazzi - Marie-Joseph, Nilsson, Krejsa - Perianu, Rilski.
FC GAF clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
J. Mutavdžić gave Havelland the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
H. Krejsa was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
The home side's
S. Pieronkiewicz curled a free kick home after 10 minutes, putting Havelland ahead 2 - 0.
The referee showed Havelland's
D. Wieland-Papaleo the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The home side's
J. Mutavdžić came close to extending the lead 15 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
I. Firsov managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
FC GAF almost scored after a swift counterattack 16 minutes into the game, but
I. Rilski put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
With 32 minutes played, Havelland's
D. Wieland-Papaleo almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
The incalculable
M. Naberezhnev of Havelland did everything right as he set up
S. Pieronkiewicz for a goal after 35 minutes. Unfortunately, the strike missed its target.
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. Mutavdžić broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Havelland.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Havelland, with 75 percent of the ball.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, FC GAF's
P. Nilsson was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes.
D. Pochat was given a chance to change things around.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
C. Serretti squirmed through their central defence after 58 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0.
FC GAF's
G. Perianu was shown a yellow card after 59 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Havelland solidified their lead at the 71 minute mark, as
I. Mullen dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Havelland were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
A. Marie-Joseph of FC GAF was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 84 minutes, Havelland tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
Good work by the FC GAF defensive line after 85 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
I. Rilski alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
F. Karsai could have put Havelland up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 86 minutes.
FC GAF bypassed the midfield with their counterattack, leading to a free kick goal by
H. Krejsa for 5 - 1.
Havelland enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.
Havelland's top performer was clearly
I. Mullen.
On the other hand,
A. Rubiś's play was disheartening.
J. Kelso performed admirably for FC GAF.
D. Pochat on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 1.
