Schnitte 5 - 0 FCG (384415618)

Dark skies made the crowd of 24113 at Ferrero Garden Center a little nervous, but the rain held off. Jean-Denis Vanlommel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Leandro Cadosch and Vincenzo Bretz. Schnitte tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Shachar - Mariman, Lelieveld, Pongratz - Boisson, Marcel, Serbanoiu, Talamonti, Wuwer - Kraus, Justinavičius.

FCG started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Scharn - Martens, Negreiros, Krassas - Ubink, Kempter, Nechwatal, Czapko - Brandenweg, Märki, von der Goltz.

H. Kraus gave Schnitte the lead with a beautiful free kick after 10 minutes. 1 - 0! Schnitte put themselves up 2 - 0 when H. Wuwer broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Schnitte put in a good effort on the right, but A. Mariman saw his volley fly wide of the mark 34 minutes into the game. Schnitte's H. Wuwer had an excellent opportunity after 39 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! M. Serbanoiu increased the lead for Schnitte to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! After 41 minutes Schnitte's A. Mariman had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. I. Arcos came in to replace him. J. Lelieveld became the new Schnitte captain. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Schnitte, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.

Coming from the right, J. Justinavičius almost managed to score another goal for Schnitte, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. H. Boisson squirmed through their central defence after 75 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Schnitte lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Schnitte were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 76 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by H. Kraus. 5 - 0 for the home side. With 80 minutes played, Schnitte's H. Kraus almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. J. Pumberger was called on to replace FCG's Y. Märki after 83 minutes following a nasty collision. G. Czapko was the new captain of FCG - handed the armband by the departing player. Schnitte claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 79 percent.

Most important Schnitte player was J. Marcel. T. Shachar was a disappointment, however. T. Brandenweg performed admirably for FCG. J. Martens on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 0.
