Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 26019 at Ostseestadion today. Edgars Otto was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Irvin Estland and Larry Wagenhuis. They were singing the praises of G. Maratopoulos 12 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Rostock. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, M. Baroja got himself booked. The manager of Rostock was not happy. A well-executed free kick by B. Peters after 20 minutes made it 2 - 0 for Rostock. The referee showed DEATHFIELD's E. Stosch the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Rostock had to make a substitution after 25 minutes. S. Doğuş limped off the field and was replaced by A. de Mesquita. There was concern in the stands when, at the 31 minute mark, DEATHFIELD's H. Rahman hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Rostock enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The Rostock players could smell victory in the air. P. Fey wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for L. Ständer after 46 minutes. The score became 3 - 0 at 72 minutes into the game, when Rostock were given a penalty which B. Peters blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Confident in their lead, Rostock's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. E. Stosch was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, DEATHFIELD's N. Orgad managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 3 - 1 Rostock's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 80 minutes gone, but L. Ständer's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Rostock had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Rostock's best player was G. Arciozzi. J. Bruchhaus turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important DEATHFIELD player was F. Bertetto. P. Vargas was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
