18615 spectators had found their way to
Lausbuben Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Rozmin bin Ahmad Mokshinon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lennard Blokker and
Ilya Daatselaar.
Frankfurter started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Čiháček - Zúñiga Sarmiento, Bartelsen, Bevilacqua, Barrionuevo - Ljubović, Taborelli, Buttarelli, Chahoushizadeh - Tuneck, Fülöp.
SCT tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Pfeilsticker - Rielich, Pipal, Porzer - Stuhrmann, Blätte, Orthofer, Ringenberg, Piper - Ruhs, Külwein.
Frankfurter were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
SCT used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
E. Pipal came close to putting the visiting team one up 25 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
B. Čiháček managed to tip the ball to a corner.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Frankfurter tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
Z. Fülöp slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 27 minutes into the game.
Frankfurter increased the lead as
C. Buttarelli struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
G. Bevilacqua could have increased the lead after 32 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
M. Tuneck increased the lead for Frankfurter to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Frankfurter lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
3 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Frankfurter, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
C. Bartelsen wanted to play on, but the Frankfurter coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
M. Sande.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Frankfurter scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
I. Ljubović after 47 minutes.
Frankfurter put in a good effort on the right, but
S. Chahoushizadeh saw his volley fly wide of the mark 54 minutes into the game.
One of many good crosses from
B. Piper on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
S. Ruhs, who scored for SCT. 4 - 1
After 59 minutes,
I. Ljubović put Frankfurter ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
SCT players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Z. Fülöp left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 78 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
L. Conidi was the replacement.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SCT, with 52 percent of the ball.
Frankfurter's best player was
M. Tuneck.
J. Barrionuevo turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating SCT player was without a doubt
S. Külwein.
B. Piper on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 1.
