It had rained all day, but 8956 hardy fans still made it out to Schinfenhausen Arena. Samir Čajavec was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Benjamin Bleuse and Norbert Leibetseder. Schinfenhausen clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. blaue used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. With 2 minutes gone, blaue had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, P. Deygas did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. After 6 minutes, blaue's I. Glanvall swiftly ran past T. Zindulka and nutmegged the keeper! 0 - 1. After 27 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave H. Ciechański a chance to increase the lead for blaue, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. The players of blaue now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. P. Deygas was, after 29 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper J. Pierre made the save. Z. Lemgo did everything he could to get one back for his Schinfenhausen, but keeper E. Pastonchi denied him with a spectacular block. Good work by the blaue defensive line after 35 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found M. Grimaldi alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. B. Névès received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 38 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The blaue fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit P. Zappia just fine. 41 minutes into the match Schinfenhausen's N. Aelterman head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by blaue, with 54 percent of the ball.

After 58 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for M. Grimaldi who increased blaue's lead to 0 - 4. A quick free kick deep in the opponent's half found Z. Lemgo, who produced a brilliant first touch to send it flying beyond the keeper into the net. This reduced the away team's lead to 1 - 4. The visitors' M. Katz took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 79 minutes into the match. 1 - 5 for blaue. A marvellous Schinfenhausen effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 81 minutes by D. Kakalos, making the score 2 - 5. The home crowd was not impressed when T. Bajer came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 82 minutes. blaue were now up 2 - 6. The referee showed blaue's T. Bajer the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. blaue enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating Schinfenhausen player was without a doubt H. Heißing. J. Pierre turned in a dismal performance, however. blaue's top performer was clearly M. Grimaldi. However, N. Gunsch made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 6.
