Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 19426 at Trubental-Arena today. Olivier Kattmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jamie Lassman and Ragnar Irsjö. Trubental had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: De Falco - Délaigue, Feiken, Wehrshausen - Leitzmann, Dobrowolski, Bauche, Ćirković, Terze - Mărginean, Hocke.

Nachtschicht decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Starters: Bosák - Kopeinig, Castañeda, das Neves, Kiebler, Mobilia - Rossaroli, Brust, Powell, Bösser - Højer Nielsen.

Trubental tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Nachtschicht were relying on their ability to counter-attack. After 29 minutes Trubental's A. Délaigue contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. G. das Neves finished off the counterattack of Nachtschicht from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 1. After 33 minutes, the defensive line of Nachtschicht created a counterattack through the middle that gave I. Castañeda a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. With 35 minutes played, A. Mobilia of Nachtschicht fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. R. Vasta was called on to replace Nachtschicht's M. Kopeinig after 38 minutes following a nasty collision. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Trubental had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

K. Kiebler behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 52 minutes as he gave the ball away to C. Hocke. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Nachtschicht's G. das Neves was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 67 minutes. Against a lesser team, Trubental could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 72 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. Trubental were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. C. Hocke made a superb strike after 75 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. 80 minutes into the match, Trubental's B. Mărginean maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. After 82 minutes, Trubental were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. B. Mărginean did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. With the clock showing 83 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Nachtschicht resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by M. Brust in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Trubental enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

The most dominating Trubental player was without a doubt C. Hocke. On the other hand, N. Terze's play was disheartening. Most important Nachtschicht player was V. Powell. L. Bosák was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
