(384472935)

23-06-2012 18.20
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 13621 that came out to
K-Town Arena.
Orlando Andrés Obregón was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marco Threels and
Remigiusz Pochroń.
K-Town had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Reiß - Smith, Biebrich, Soltz - Małysa, Dudás, Hoffmann-Stark, Knudsen - Stopfer, Presta, Kubiak.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Rawetz.
Lineup: Nangeroni - Verka, Matei, Jari - Díaz Estévanez, Paulsson, Causin, Misiti - Kusch, Moralejo, Thordal.
It was obvious that K-Town were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic.
K-Town pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
M. Knudsen, but the K-Town player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
After 6 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
D. Kusch made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1.
Rawetz had to make a substitution after 12 minutes.
D. Kusch limped off the field and was replaced by
B. Mery.
D. Kubiak enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
L. Misiti got himself booked. The manager of Rawetz was not happy.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Rawetz's
B. Mery after 26 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead.
A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 28 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Rawetz's
M. Causin to one side and produced a red card for the player.
K-Town tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
K-Town had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
I. Matei didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
The bench was restless, and with 61 minutes passed K-Town's coach gave
M. Ienco the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
T. Hoffmann-Stark reluctantly left the field.
A. Biebrich could have scored for K-Town with his free kick after 61 minutes, but the visitors' keeper just managed to get a hand on it.
Against a lesser team, K-Town could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 62 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
K-Town's
R. Małysa got himself booked for a foul.
With 67 minutes played, K-Town's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
R. Małysa he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 2.
A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Rawetz the lead 68 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall.
70 minutes into the game,
B. Thordal almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
P. Paulsson of Rawetz was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
After 74 minutes, the K-Town coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
H. Stopfer off the field.
M. Grömling took his place.
K-Town had a good opportunity to take the lead as
L. Smith came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
D. Nangeroni.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by K-Town, with 58 percent of the ball.
V. Presta performed admirably for K-Town.
R. Małysa was a disappointment, however.
Rawetz's best player was
R. Moralejo.
I. Matei turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
