Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Stadion unter den Eichen saw a crowd turnout of 20992. For their match strategy, Hooters had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. At 4 minutes played, J. Maravillas came in from the right with the intention of giving VfL_Eversen the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. With 5 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Hooters resulted in a counterattack that set M. Huhtala free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. A counterattack by Hooters after 17 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but T. Blondel, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. After a fine move down the middle H. Sánchez nearly gave the home side a goal after 33 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 37 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from L. Van De Gehuchte, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Halftime score was 1 - 0. VfL_Eversen had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

The crowd was silenced 59 minutes into the match as the visiting team's R. Kuntz came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. 62 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for VfL_Eversen to take the lead after a good cross from the right found J. Maravillas alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 65 minutes into the game, VfL_Eversen wanted to bring some new energy to their game. J. Preston gave P. Vybiral a quick hug as he left the field. VfL_Eversen took the lead after 75 minutes as a result of J. Maravillas's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1. 80 minutes into the game, M. Pereira Guerreiro had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came D. Kalix. D. Kalix could have increased the lead after 82 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by VfL_Eversen, with 70 percent of the ball.

VfL_Eversen's best player was H. Skrzęta. J. Arsenijević on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Hooters player was H. Koptik. I. Weinhengst was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
