The home crowd was not impressed when G. Schürch came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 40 minutes. Bayernmania were now up 1 - 3. rot-blau's H. Dilgüzar got himself booked for a foul. P. Schobermayr of Bayernmania was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 1 - 3 was the score after the first half. rot-blau had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

With 49 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed G. Schürch of Bayernmania to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4. F. Bogdziewicz challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 53 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. rot-blau's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 55 minutes into the match as H. Selecky ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 2 - 4. The Bayernmania players could smell victory in the air. H. Wassmann wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for K. Oeri after 60 minutes. P. Schobermayr increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 5. T. Martischnig did everything he could to get one back for his rot-blau, but keeper A. Liboni denied him with a spectacular block. Possession in this half belonged to rot-blau, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
