(384503237)

14-07-2012 18.20
27030 punters turned up at
Brackel City, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Péter Döme was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Otto Borel and
Ákos Börcsök.
Brackel decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Adomniţei - Azaola, Ivanov, Luks - Núñez, Kemppainen, Aquilone, Prügl, Nilsson - Vinčić, Libert.
Niendorfer had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Bicskei - Eerola, Vallet, Mälzer - Bakke, Kügerl, Stamenović, Weiden, Willemyns - Olša, Ţicu.
Brackel mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Niendorfer immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents.
After 3 minutes, Niendorfer's
E. Bakke made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
B. Vinčić charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Brackel, but the shot went well wide of the goal.
After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 17 minutes into the match, an alert
S. Libert bagged the ball for Brackel, levelling the score to 1 - 1.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
J. Núñez, but the Brackel player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1!
The visitors didn't give in and, after 26 minutes,
S. Vallet got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2.
It was obvious that team Brackel had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Some great play up the middle by Brackel led to a chance for
B. Vinčić to score after 35 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
2 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Brackel, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
A. Mälzer of Niendorfer received a yellow card after 47 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Brackel's
M. Prügl tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
S. Libert gave Brackel the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2
Niendorfer's
S. Vallet left the field after 69 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
M. Kaltental.
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. Núñez broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 2 to Brackel.
Brackel claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
B. Vinčić performed admirably for Brackel.
D. Ivanov was a disappointment, however.
Niendorfer's best player was
A. Ţicu.
However,
M. Kaltental made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 2.
