Dark skies made the crowd of 26011 at
Faxe Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Jérémie Couto was the appointed referee with assistance provided by

1.FC decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Sharma - Taliani, Ciprés, Kenyon, Briatico Vangosa - Cignoni, Ciechomski, Aisslinger, Roméro - Petri, Dannemann.

The following players took the field: Riederer - Tamiazzo, Abelaira, Bosnić - Rahier, Dumser, Florntz, Lopes, da Vila - Zuendel, Elimelech.
1.FC mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
M. Lopes got himself booked. The manager of Rot-Weiß was not happy.
1.FC created a good opportunity to score 12 minutes into the match when
F. Dannemann's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
Given a free kick close to the byline, 1.FC tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
M. Roméro slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 23 minutes into the game.
Rot-Weiß's
N. da Vila made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 33 minutes into the match.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by 1.FC, with 68 percent of the ball.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.

By now, the players in 1.FC felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
1.FC's
H. Petri swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
1.FC's
J. Cignoni left the field after 67 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
M. Osborne.
Rot-Weiß reduced the lead after 69 minutes to 2 - 1 as
J. Zuendel easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right.
74 minutes into the game,
A. Kenyon had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
B. Rohweddell.
1.FC had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.
T. Aisslinger performed admirably for 1.FC.
On the other hand,
M. Osborne's play was disheartening.
Most important Rot-Weiß player was
J. Zuendel.
E. Florntz turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.
