Dark skies made the crowd of 27457 at Paulsenplatz-Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Giovanni Maria Dilaghi was the appointed referee. FCKölle clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. HH fans held their breath as L. Zlatković scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! HH's T. Keene put in a disappointing effort on a penalty after 22 minutes, firing just wide of the goal. HH increased the lead as V. Turtù struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. The players of HH now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, L. Mauler got himself booked. The manager of HH was not happy. With 36 minutes played, C. Karppila had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. R. Sari increased the lead for HH to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! It was 3 - 0 at the break. HH had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

R. Sari of HH was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. L. Mauler could have increased the lead after 56 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. Zlatković squirmed through their central defence after 57 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. The crowd roared its approval when P. Bruynooghe somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by FCKölle's A. Ferreira Abreu 63 minutes into the game. Things were deteriorating for the away team as HH scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for S. Veltins after 67 minutes. HH's T. Keene somehow missed a penalty 69 minutes into the match, much to the crowd's displeasure. Possession in this half belonged to HH, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

L. Mauler performed admirably for HH. On the other hand, R. Sari's play was disheartening. The most dominating FCKölle player was without a doubt R. Just. However, T. Polsfuß made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
