previous 4/10 next 6/10  Eintracht 4 - 2 Langenhagen (384573266)

Clouds darkened the skies at Comerzbank Arena as 5359 spectators turned up for the match. Martien Brak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pekko Haakana and Mardo Lehesalu. Eintracht started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Karayıp - Krotzer, Pankratz, Hochenauer - Harthaus, Maltry, Dlugosch, Figgener, Gren - Szabó, Tjädersten.

Langenhagen decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Bezerra - Biehl, Iudri, Stawowczyk - Sauve, Yahalom, Meehan, Petzinger, Rotar - Dias Lopes, Mohan.

After 2 minutes, M. Figgener came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Eintracht the lead. 6 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as D. Dlugosch broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Eintracht. After 11 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by H. Hochenauer might have resulted in another goal for Eintracht. However, D. Bezerra made a spectacular save. Langenhagen reduced the lead after 12 minutes to 2 - 1 as B. Iudri easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. 17 minutes in, Langenhagen's C. Rotar received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Langenhagen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The home team will be cursing D. Yahalom for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 2 - 2 after 50 minutes. Langenhagen had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 55 minutes in when D. Yahalom came up alone against C. Karayıp who managed a block. After 59 minutes Eintracht's J. Gren had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. G. Vorbeck came in to replace him. The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 60 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by C. Karayıp. H. Szabó of Eintracht was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish O. Biehl, which resulted in a goal making the score 3 - 2. Eintracht put themselves up 4 - 2 when M. Pankratz broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Langenhagen had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

M. Figgener performed admirably for Eintracht. D. Dlugosch was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Langenhagen player was without a doubt B. Dias Lopes. On the other hand, S. Petzinger's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 2.
