(384612272)

30-06-2012 18.45
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Wald Stadion saw a crowd turnout of 8796.
Deusdede Cabeludo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Eduardo Gaio and
Boris Sokolov.
Straach tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Bartus - Wieland, Mancilla, Gelida, Varelopoulos - Berthge, Fényi, Wörth, Ackeret - Hultkvist, Georgescu.
Schwein decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
Starters: Dickert - Seehann, Grimmig - Langhorn, Welsch, Gruscher, Abercron, Jessen-Molzahn - Overbeck, Raschke, Lakner.
It was an obvious ambition of Straach to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Straach fans held their breath as
P. Hultkvist scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
The visiting team's
H. Overbeck was able to score the 1 - 1 equaliser with a header 20 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right.
After 26 minutes, Schwein's
M. Langhorn made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2.
Straach tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
A drive down the left side allowed
M. Gruscher to get in close and score another goal for Schwein after 37 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3.
After 38 minutes, Straach's
M. Fényi fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3.
Schwein claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Á. Mancilla tried to get a goal back for Straach but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
After 63 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
W. Jessen-Molzahn to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 4.
After this, you could see that the players of Schwein were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
W. Lakner was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 68 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
With 70 minutes played, the Straach coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
M. Strelnikov came on,
M. Fényi had to leave the fray.
Straach's
A. Ackeret found himself alone on the left side 70 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
After 75 minutes, Straach switched
E. Georgescu with
N. Semerdzhiev, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
S. Welsch of Schwein took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 76 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 5.
Straach needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes
T. Berthge made way for
M. Mantlik.
Possession in this half belonged to Schwein, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
The most dominating Straach player was without a doubt
P. Hultkvist.
N. Semerdzhiev turned in a dismal performance, however.
Schwein's best player was
R. Dickert.
M. Gruscher was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 5.
